The Android version of the game has been available since November 2013, with the first beta test taking place in May 2014. Ashes of the Singularity was first revealed on April 9, 2015 on Stardock blog. On June 26, 2015 Stardock officially announced Escalation expansion pack for android as a gift for fans who pre-ordered Escalation before it had been announced publicly and made available on Steam’s Early Access program a week before its release.

Units:

 The game includes several different unit types, including light and heavy tanks, artillery units, aircrafts and many more. The game provides various unit statistics, like rate of fire, damage and speed. Before units engage in combat, they can be upgraded to improve their performance. For example, the player can choose to enhance a unit’s survivability by adding armor plating.

Castes: 

The game uses three different castes to categorize units: light, medium and heavy. Within each caste there are several different types of units, which include tanks and artillery. Light castes include light cavalry-like units with low health points but high speed and damage rate; medium castes consist of tanks with decent health points but low movement speed; heavy castes consist of bigger tanks with high health points but slow movement speed.

Achievements: 

The game also provides players with certain achievements to unlock. The Android version has its own achievement set independent from the PC version, totaling up to 500 points. It features a wide range of unit types and castes, with varying speed and abilities, which can be customized through various upgrades and technologies. The game provides players with various achievements to unlock, covering different aspects of gameplay. Ashes of the Singularity is also the first non-console game to use DirectX 12, which allows for more detailed graphics and the ability to use multiple graphics cards simultaneously.

Disadvantages:

The game is a Sci-Fi 4X real-time strategy. This means that the player has to compete against 3 other opponents, in order to take over the whole map. Ashes of the Singularity offers players only one map, which can be played in either Planetary Mode or Space Mode. The game states that additional maps will become available via DLCs.

The development of Ashes of the Singularity began in 2011, when Oxide Games and Stardock Entertainment started to work on a new version of Nitrous engine, which was first used for their 2011 title “Demigod”.

Reviews:

The game has received mixed reviews. The game scored 74/100 on PC Gamer, which said: “Ashes of the Singularity might be the company’s first forays into the RTS genre, but it shows a remarkable amount of experience.” The game was rated 7.2/10 on IGN, which stated: “[…] Ashes of the Singularity is less concerned with moment-to-moment gameplay than it is with long-term strategy and resource management.
