The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.

Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us. Whereas a person with self-awareness is able to exercise a little meta-cognition and say, “Hmm… every time my sister calls me and asks for money, I end up drinking a lot of vodkas.
In our new video, we talked about the idea that we’re on autopilot while in a dream, so I was curious what it’s like out there in the real world. Turns out, it’s pretty much how it’s always been.
When you think about it, your daily dose of self-awareness goes on forever. The truth is that we’re all just that few – we’re all just that few, but we’re all those other things that are only a few at a time. We’re all a few.
The point is that a lot of the other things that are probably going to happen are pretty much inevitable when it comes to your life. That’s why we are more likely to get into a violent brawl when we’re on autopilot.
Its not the fact that I’m on autopilot, its the fact that I’m on autopilot and I’ve forgotten to take a nap. When we’re on autopilot for so long, it can lead us to miss our sleep. The fact that I’m on autopilot while I’m asleep is pretty much the same thing as not being asleep and I’m not dreaming. If you are asleep, you’re not dreaming and you’re not on autopilot.
You know when you are sleeping and you are still dreaming, that is when you are on autopilot. Sleeping is a state that can take us away from our daily jobs, or worse, make us forget what our lives are actually like. Sleeping on autopilot can mean that we are asleep while we continue to do something else that we know is wrong but we can’t quite remember what it is.
It seems that a lot of us have lapsed into the “autopilot” state. We think were still asleep, but then when we wake up, we’re not really sure how or why. How do we get out of that state? Most of us are usually able to wake up after spending a little while in the “autopilot” state. Sleep deprivation can really mess with your body’s ability to regulate your sleep.
